the sexy server status thread.

I upgraded to danbooru version 1.8.0 yesterday afternoon for all the new features. Unfortunately, images are not viewable to anonymous for the moment. I'll work on that today.

And now it is fixed :3

Updated to latest version of Danbooru to fix a bug with the invite system.

It all fell apart..

Ah, I want to eat some guts.

Downtime do to rq suggestion.

Updated to current version of Danbooru. All good yoma are at home in their beds dreaming of GUTS.

Tweaks to mongrel/apache caused a short downtime while I attempted to even out the load a bit. Seems a bit better or could just be my imagination.

Down for about a hour, maybe a hour and a half for database maintenance. Thankfully the work seems to have actually accomplished something, the site seems much more responsive now and doesn't slow to a crawl if you start clicking on profiles.

3db will be going down for upgrades sometime between 6-9am PST Nov 19th. Barring unforeseen cock-ups it should be back up in less than an hour. Probably :3

And we're back. I think.

And I brought it all to a crashing halt for an hour or so because I like updating without thinking. Fixed now.

We're moving to a new server in the next couple of days. The IP address will change so the site may be inaccessible until the address propagates.

Server move complete. We are now running a current build of Danbooru with all the features (i.e, user mail, auto-delete moderation queue). Everything seems to be working well thus far.

Sign-ups are disabled for the time being while I work on some stuff.

Also, apparently there was a setting limiting views of Anonymous to the first page only. That is now resolved.

Edit: Account sign-up restored.

Updated from older trunk build to current release of danbooru 1.12.1 with various enhancements/bug fixes. Limited testing reveals no showstoppers. If you get an access denied when clicking on any images, clear your behoimi.org cookie and try it again.

We have updated to Danbooru version 1.13.0.

This will allow us in the future to assign tag types to model names and photo sets. Also, interstitials, adbrite and google ads have been removed because frankly, they suck. One new project wonderful ad box was inserted between tags and statistics. I know no one likes ads but I'd like the site to at least offset the costs of running it some day. The pw ads are less intrusive than the interstitials so it should at least be somewhat less annoying. I may dump the button ads or relocate them to the bottom I'll talk that over with the mods later this week.

Downtime was due to a security update plus some tag cleanup. If you encounter an error you may need to delete your behoimi.org cookie and log in again.

We had some hiccups along the way but we are now running the current trunk build of Danbooru (1.15.0). Don't ask me what the changes are I couldn't tell you right now.

I posted in a nil thread. Yet again.

We had some downtime due to an update to the latest build of Danbooru (still 1.15.0, will remain so until the danbooru 2.0 rewrite).

The update included some UI changes. I'm not married to the navbar color. I tweaked the css to get some width back, should now display 4 images per row instead of three on most 4x3 resolutions. We have the option of janitors and contributors user levels now (basically non-mods who can approve and uploaders who do not need admin/mod/janitor approval). I'm not sure if we have any needs for these levels yet as 98 percent of the uploading is still me.

Forum posts (Yes, I know they are rare) now show up in the form of italics instead of a bold font.

<s>We are aware of the missing popular by month/week links and will pass it along to the dev.</s> - fixed now

Just as an FYI, some time after 9/22 the server will go down for 1-X hours for an upgrade (x because it could take some time but I expect less than 4). I'll update when I figure out the exact date. If you are curious as to why it is because we are beginning to run out of disk space. The bonus is we'll have more ram/cpu available but the important part is space.

Tonight's the night I think.

No really, I mean it. Prep started after waiting in queue for 4 hours. So it should go down for the upgrade in uh...maybe an hour or two.

Edit: All done now. Looks good so far.

Some downtime this morning while I updated the danbooru script to almost current

-note to self don't update to current until albert explains how the new advert code works. Nothing to see here, move along.

THIS HALLOWEEN THEME IS TERRIBLE

Server hiccups due to a database issue. Fixed.

Pre-warning: I'll have some time during the upcoming holidays to do some server maintenance and site tweaking. Server may suffer from intermittent downtime or the site may look funky-er on occasion. Or not. Either way it won't happen until after the 22nd. This is outside of the file sync and database maintenance that occurs irregularly (Yes, we are all very professional here).

Updating to newest trunk of danbooru script tonight. We going for a ride, hang on tight.

Done. Probably.

Please report any oddness you might encounter but I think we got it all.

We're moving. I love Slicehost but to get the disk space required for my various endeavors I'm paying 50 bucks more a month than it costs to run a straight dedicated box with considerably more disk space. I've been mucking about setting up the new box but will begin testing a mirrored version of the site soon. I'll give notice a day or so before I do the actual full migration. We will have plenty of room for growth and the box is quite speedy so I'm hoping it will work out well. DNS propagation may take a day or so depending on your ISP.

Ok, date picked. Depending on how worn out I am after work, we will move to the new server either tomorrow or Saturday morning. Log reports that the server is either the same or faster as far as loading images (I'm generally on wireless so seems the same to me). The setup itself shouldn't take too long, I've already moved all but the last few days worth of images over to the new box. Wish us luck and we'll see you on the other side :)

And we're moved. Please report oddities (sans the site being unreachable for up to 24ish hours).

Just as a forewarning, I'm going to do an update to the current trunk build of danbooru. Probably next weekend. It will break the site for a bit but I've already done it on sad booru in snow and I'm quite taken with the tag subscriptions feature so I'll make it work.

Edit: 24hr-ish warning: upgrade tomorrow. When we go down for the upgrade could take several hours for me to go back and hack in our bits of custom stuffs.
