While a great idea in theory we've been sticking with the focal point of images, post #88821 would have a dozen tags only one of which is the focal point
Tag noise: unless related tags were entirely user defined it fucks up related tags to a horrible degree.
If I for instance do related characters for Eva I should get ritsuko/rei/hikari/sachiel/asuka/mari not youmu/revy/haruhi/chii/benten/etc. These photoshoots are not often done in a professional secluded environment, I would guess 3/4 of our cosplay photos come from events and 10% of those have random people walking through the background. It also would also fuck up related tags for models, if a model has only cosplayed haruhi/asuka/remi and there's 20 random characters walking through the background related characters for that model would become worthless.
The "tag everything possible" mentality works far better on danbooru, the only place where you can have an image with 10 characters and 209 gentags. Also nil will never tag background characters and I tag pretty much nothing as is.
tl,dr: May as well kill off related tags entirely if we're going to bother tagging background noise & what works for danbooru doesn't necessarily work here.
